Illicit gold flows and the rehabilitation of artisanal gold mines in Suriname. Production and sourcing of illicit gold have reached the highest rates ever recorded, and along with deforestation and organised crime, it presents one of the most significant threats to biodiversity in the Amazon today.

Critical Care International (CCI), in collaboration with Endeavour Mining and generously funded by the Single Mine Origin Foundation, is launching a vital new initiative to improve health outcomes for mothers, newborns, and children under five in the Sabodala region of eastern Senegal.

We are proud to announce the launch of the SMO Foundation, a new philanthropic initiative to support mining communities. Its aim? To collaborate with charities to elevate environmental conservation, social equity, healthcare access and community engagement within its member regions – funded by donations from individuals, organisations or businesses.
