SMO Gold highlighted as a positive case study for The Nature Roadmap by The Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030

With climate change having a very real impact on our environment, the Watch and Jewellery Initiative 2030 (a global, multi-stakeholder platform founded for the luxury watch and jewellery industry by Cartier and Kering) has released its Nature Roadmap to create a greater understanding amongst its members of the crisis affecting our natural world, and highlight the impacts that their value and supply chains contribute to the problem.

On a brighter note, the report also showcases how these impacts can be minimised and how, with shared information, greater responsibility and increased collaboration, the watch and jewellery industry can contribute to the restoration of nature, for the good of all – regardless of the current progress of each member’s biodiversity journey.

SMO Gold is delighted to announce that its work to promote high-level, responsible gold sourcing, raise industry standards and support natural conservation, restoration and community-focused projects in mining-impacted landscapes has been recognised as a positive case study within The Nature Roadmap.

By enabling greater transparency and accountability, SMO Gold hopes that its business will continue to inspire and equip WJI 2030 members – as well as the wider industry – to raise the bar when it comes to their own best practices.
